In early 2020, during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to return to campus for classes. This digital painting was created as a reflection of that time. The artwork depicts a group of cheerful companions posing for a photo beneath one of Harvard’s iconic archways. However, the figures have been removed, leaving behind a transparent mosaic effect in Photoshop. This symbolizes the fleeting nature of such idyllic spring moments, now rarely seen on campus.
Yet, there is a sense of hope embedded in the piece. "Until next spring," it seems to say, when we will reunite—dear classmates, and the beauty of springtime—see you then!
